Join us for a 10-week Daf Group Course designed for intermediate players who already have experience playing daf. This group class is an opportunity to deepen your rhythmic skills, develop musical expression, and grow as an ensemble musician while learning and playing alongside a community of fellow daf players.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your technique, expand your rhythmic vocabulary, or simply connect with others through the music, this course offers a supportive and engaging environment to take your playing to the next level.

Course Details
This 10-week course is designed for intermediate daf players who have prior experience with the instrument. Each week, Jalal and Ruhi will guide students through rhythm, technique, and ensemble playing while creating a welcoming space to learn, play, and connect with other daf enthusiasts.

Registration is for the full 10-week course. Your enrollment reserves your spot for the entire session and tuition covers all 10 classes. We understand that schedules can change so if you need to miss a class, your tuition will remain the same and individual sessions cannot be prorated or purchased separately.

Meet the Instructor
Jalal Kimia
Daf and Tombak InstructorJalal Kimia is a Persian percussionist, educator, and community organizer with over 25 years of performance experience and more than 20 years of teaching experience. Originally from Iran, he studied under renowned percussionists including Dariush Eshaghi, Meysam Afshin, and Pejman Hadadi.
Jalal is the founder of the Kimia Percussion Academy and Rumi Daf Ensemble, and regularly leads workshops, performances, and community daf circles throughout the Washington, D.C. area. His teaching is rooted in a deep love for Persian percussion and a belief that music is best experienced together.
