about the ENSEMBLE
Goals of the Program
Students will learn more in depth of what it takes to play in an ensemble. Students can train on instruments such as Tombak, Daf, Dayereh, Udu, Cajon, Darbuka, and more. Students will learn to develop listening skills, timing, and coordination to perform as part of a percussion group. They will select and arrange songs, then work on their percussion parts together. Weekly rehearsals will guide students through rhythms, dynamics, and teamwork. And at the end of the course, depending on the preparedness of the class, students will showcase their progress through an ensemble performance.
Level & Age Requirements
This group class is open to students ages 11+
Open to all percussion Students, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player.
Course Date & Time
The Persian Percussion Ensemble will be held on Fridays, September 12th from 8PM-9:30PM.
Faculty
The teaching staff will include distinguished Daf & Tombak instructor and performer, Jalal Kimia and his assistance, Ruhi Afnan.
