about the COURSE
Goals of the Program
Students will explore the art of Persian vocal music, learning both classical and folk traditions. Over the 10 weeks, students will focus on:
Understanding the foundations of Persian vocal technique, including breath control, tone production, and ornamentation.
Learning about the Persian dastgah (modal) system and how it shapes traditional repertoire.
Developing listening skills to recognize subtle melodic and rhythmic nuances.
Interpreting and performing Persian poetry through song, with attention to expression and phrasing.
Gaining confidence singing both solo and in small group settings.
By the end of the course, students will have learned a selection of Persian songs, and depending on the preparedness of the class, they may have the opportunity to present a short performance to share their progress.
Level & Age Requirements
This group class is open to students ages 11+
Open to ALL LEVELS, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced singer.
Course Date & Time
The Persian Vocal Course will be held on Fridays, September 20th from 6:30PM-8:00PM.
Faculty
The teaching staff will include distinguished Persian Vocal instructor and performer, Ali Zephideh.
